Spelling Correction + Autocomplete
When a user inadvertently enters the wrong query word, one that is incomplete or misspelled, search engines need to be intuitive enough to present the correct results. Autocomplete, a feature provided by many search engine interfaces and database query tools, predicts a word or phrase that the user wants to type in without the user actually typing it in completely. Integrating spelling correction and autocomplete features into the user interface improves the experience for users, helping them to efficiently find the information that they need so that they can accomplish more.
Our agile, multilingual teams of search evaluators categorize query terms to identify potentially misspelled words and incomplete words. Those query terms are then handed off to a team of specialists, who provide corrected spellings or propose the correct full word, to aid in teaching the machine how to automatically correct or complete query terms.
