Sydney, NSW Australia – November 15, 2018 – Appen, a leader in the development of human-annotated training data for machine learning and artificial intelligence, is pleased to announce that Wilson Pang has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer.

Wilson brings over 17 years of software engineering and data science experience to Appen, from companies including CTrip, eBay, and IBM. In his role as CTO, he will oversee the company’s technology vision, platform, and products.
“After meeting with the executive team and learning more about the company’s phenomenal growth, I knew that joining Appen to accelerate its technology roadmap would be a great opportunity,” said Wilson.
Previously, Wilson was Chief Data Officer of CTrip in China, the second largest online travel agency company in the world, where he led data engineers, analysts, data product managers, and scientists to improve the user experience and increase operational efficiency that grew the business. Before that, Wilson was Senior Director of Engineering at eBay in California and provided leadership to various domains including data service and solutions, search science, marketing technology, and billing systems. He worked as an architect at IBM prior to eBay, building technology solutions for various clients.
